How long can you stay erect, according to medical science?

Most doctors caution against staying erect for more than three or four hours because of possible damage to small capillaries in the penis, which can increase the risk of erectile dysfunction. But not only are there very few men who can actually stay erect for this long, there’s also little benefit. A survey of sex therapists published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that the optimal length for sexual intercourse is three to 13 minutes, with a median time of 7.3 minutes. Researchers have also found that 75 percent of all men regularly orgasm within two minutes. So if that’s you, try doing Kegel exercises to improve blood flow to the penis: Clench the same muscles you would to stop urinating, and release and clench again for a total of 10 seconds. Do daily for three months.
